What is the difference between cooking in a roaster, pyrex, and corning ware?

I’ve used all three and like them. If it will fit in a corning ware dish, that’s my first choice, then pyrex, then my roaster.

Roasting pans come in different sized, weights and materials–everything from cheap thin aluminum to beautiful porcelin lined cast iron. Truth is with just two of us, I don’t need a roaster anymore. I never cook large pieces of meat except at Thanksgiving. I buy a big disposable roaster at the Dollar Store for $2.00 and then throw it in the trash when I’m done.

I do have a couple of racks that fit my large corning ware dish and my largest pyrex dish. I use a lid or tent the meat with foil as needed. I don’t see any real difference in how the food turns out. If you’ve got a large family then a roaster might be nice, but frankly they take up to much precious kitchen storage space.
