Sculptures and statues have always played an important role in interior decoration. In fact it is one of the most ancient form of art that are found in excavations too. Importance of Vastu statues decorating
According to Vastu Shastra, the ancient Indian school of housing construction and decoration attributes based on astrological front door is the most important part of any home. As such, should always be clean and decorated with auspicious symbols. Statues are recommended the following to be placed at the front door:
- Deity of the family: There are many Hindu gods and goddesses. Although most Indian families worship of all gods, but there is a family deity (Devi Devta KUL or KUL), which is especially revered as a legacy of Aboriginal people. Vaastu recommends statue of the deity of the family to be placed in the front door.
- Guards or watchmen Two statues of soldiers (Prathiharis) to both sides of the door is supposed to protect the inhabitants of the house of any adverse events.
- Statue of eight sacred symbols: or Asthamangala is a statue sitting on a lotus flower with a garland of eight auspicious symbols sacred umbrella including gold pair of fish, shell, vessel of treasures, the lotus, endless knot, victory banner and the wheel. It is considered very auspicious.
- Goddess Lakshmi is sitting in Lotus and well decorated, being bathed by elephants, is supposed to bring prosperity to the house.
- Cow: Well decorated animal cow figurine with her calf and garlands of flowers alo bring prosperity.
